GlobalClassLink ("we," "our," or "us") is an interactive learning platform connecting teachers and students through quizzes, live classes, 3D learning models, and collaborative study tools. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website at globalclasslink.com or our mobile apps ("Services"), you agree to the practices described here.

1Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect:

Email address and password — for accounts created with email/password authentication.
Google account data (name, email, profile picture) — when you sign in with Google via Firebase Authentication.
Role — whether you are a teacher or student, chosen at sign-up.
Display name, first name, last name — entered in your profile.

1.2 Educational Content

We store data that is core to the platform's function:

Quizzes, questions, assignments, and class materials you create or submit.
Quiz attempt responses, scores, and analytics.
Doubt forum posts and teacher responses.
Class schedules and enrolled class information.
PDF files and other materials uploaded to Firebase Storage.

1.3 Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or bank credentials on our servers. We receive and store:

Subscription plan type (e.g., monthly, annual).
Payment status and transaction IDs from Razorpay.
Subscription start and end dates.

Razorpay's handling of payment data is governed by their own Privacy Policy.

1.4 Usage and Device Data

We may automatically collect:

Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
IP address and approximate location (country/region).
Pages visited, features used, and timestamps.
App version, Expo device info (mobile app).

1.5 Offline Data (Mobile App)

When you download quizzes for offline access, the quiz content is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data is only on your device and is not shared with our servers until you submit an attempt.

2How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
To deliver core platform features: quizzes, classes, materials, assignments, doubt forums, and live sessions.
To calculate quiz scores, generate analytics, and show you performance insights.
To process subscription payments and manage your plan status.
To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, payment receipts).
To improve the platform, diagnose technical issues, and monitor service health.
To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent misuse.

We do not use your data to serve third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to any third party.

3How We Share Your Information

3.1 Within the Platform

Teachers can see the names and submission data of students enrolled in their classes. Students can see teacher profiles, published quizzes, and shared materials. Doubt posts are visible to the teacher and student involved.

3.2 Service Providers

We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Hosting, Analytics) — core infrastructure.
Razorpay — payment processing for subscriptions.
Expo / React Native — mobile app delivery and push notifications.

These providers access your data only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order).

4Data Retention

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records for tax purposes, which we retain for 7 years).

Locally cached offline quiz data on your mobile device is retained until you remove the app or clear app storage.

5Data Security

We use Firebase Security Rules to restrict database and storage access to authenticated users with appropriate roles. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Passwords are never stored in plain text — Firebase Authentication handles credential storage securely.

While we implement industry-standard safeguards, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6Children's Privacy

GlobalClassLink is designed to be used in educational settings that may include users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Students under 13 should only use the platform with a parent's or school's involvement.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at support@globalclasslink.com and we will delete that data promptly.

7Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings.
Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
Data portability — request an export of your data.
Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time.

8Data Storage & Session Management

GlobalClassLink does not use HTTP cookies for session management or tracking. Your login session is maintained using localStorage and IndexedDBin your browser — handled automatically by Firebase Authentication and stored only on your device.

We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts. No data is collected for advertising or cross-site tracking purposes.

You can clear this locally stored session data at any time by signing out, or by clearing your browser's site data for globalclasslink.com.

9Third-Party Links

The platform may contain links to external websites (e.g., study resources linked by teachers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies independently.

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

11Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
